Ghost E Zephyr: Comfort, Protection and Long Flaps
The Ghost E Zephyr is the saddle of the LinkGhost E Line specifically developed for riders who spend long hours in the saddle, practicing endurance or demanding trail riding outdoors, and are looking for a perfect balance between protection and respect for the horse's biomechanics. This model stands out clearly due to the presence of long and structured flaps, shaped to ensure excellent lateral coverage: an essential feature to isolate the rider's leg and protect the horse's ribs from friction caused by components during long journeys.
The technological core of the Zephyr lies in its specific base, designed with a visibly narrower tree width compared to the brand's standard bases. This geometric feature allows the horse's paravertebral muscles to move freely and accommodates the natural swing of the back during the different gaits, while offering the rider a close, stable and very deep close-contact seat. A huge technical advantage is the extreme lightness of the structure, which weighs only 2.6 kg with fenders included, a decisive factor in minimizing horse fatigue over long distances. Although focused on outdoor use, it can also be used for light flatwork.
Stability is guaranteed by the external rigging system, which secures the saddle firmly and prevents lateral rolling or slipping even on the steepest terrains, without exerting rigid pressure or pull on the spine. The interchangeable panels attached with velcro allow the fit to be modified and refined over time, following the horse's muscular development or changes in shape, keeping the spinal canal completely free of pressure. To meet the different physical needs of both horse and rider, the saddle is offered in the two official base sizes established by the manufacturer for this specific line: Grande (corresponding to 16" / 40 cm) and Piccola (corresponding to 14.5" / 37 cm).
Entirely handmade in Italy, the Ghost E Zephyr can be custom configured via the online configurator of EquiSaddle, by selecting the desired premium materials and adding the COCI seat, the ideal option designed to optimize the distribution of ischial pressures and functionally improve weight relief and rider comfort during extended hours.

FAQ – Zephyr Ghost E Saddle
Here you will find quick answers to the most common questions about usage, setup, and feelings while riding.
What is the main feature of the flap on the Zephyr model?
The Zephyr is equipped with long and protective flaps. This structure is designed for those who spend many hours in the saddle outdoors or trail riding, as it increases rider comfort by isolating the leg and protects the horse's ribs from the girth straps and continuous contact.
How much does the Ghost E Zephyr saddle weigh?
The saddle boasts a record ultra-lightweight of approximately 2.6 kg, calculated with fenders included in the official measurement system. This feature significantly lightens the overall load on the horse's back, improving comfort and energy management over long distances.
What are the available tree and seat sizes for the Zephyr?
In compliance with the original technical specifications of the Ghost E Line, the saddle is produced in two distinct tree variants: the Grande size (with a 16" / 40 cm tree) and the Piccola size (with a 14.5" / 37 cm tree).
Does the COCI seat option change the fit for the rider?
The integrated COCI seat is an option structured to increase rider comfort during prolonged use. Since it introduces a specific shock-absorbing padding, it accommodates the pelvis in a more structured way, offering a slightly more enclosed seat feeling compared to the standard seat.
Can I use the Zephyr saddle if my horse changes muscle tone over time?
Yes. The saddle is equipped with interchangeable panels adjustable via velcro. This allows for repositioning the support or replacing the padding to follow the physical changes and training of the horse, keeping the central channel always perfectly free of pressure.
How does the E line's external rigging system work?
The external rigging distributes the girth's pull forces in a balanced way directly across the base of the saddle. This system drastically reduces rolling and shifting of the structure on uneven terrains or slopes, offering the rider an immediate feeling of stability and security without over-tightening the girth.
