Bareback Cavallin Ivoska: the latest addition to the Ghost range

The Cavallin Ivoska Bareback sits between the most minimalist options and the slightly more structured models (such as the Cavallin Toscana Bareback) in the Cavallin range. It retains the close-contact feel typical of bareback riding, while providing a greater sense of stability and support for the rider.

The combination of a flexible base and dedicated pad helps distribute the rider's weight more evenly while moving naturally with the horse, making it a great choice for light flatwork, schooling and relaxed trail rides. Rather than being designed as a highly technical or specialised saddle, it offers an intuitive solution for riders who want to maintain a natural, close-contact feel with a little extra support.

If you're looking for an even more compact option, you may also want to consider the Cavallin Mini Bareback, while riders looking for a balance between minimalism and everyday practicality can opt for the Cavallin Toscana Bareback.

Suede and Lorica (a highly durable vegan synthetic microfibre that provides excellent grip) are the standard materials used for the seat and trim.

Which options come at an additional cost?

Another option available is sheepskin/wool.

  • If you would like the seat to be fully covered in genuine long-pile sheepskin/wool (often used on "Maremma"-style models or for riders looking for maximum warmth and comfort), an additional charge usually applies.
  • Choosing Nubuck or premium smooth leather instead of standard suede, as well as requesting two-tone or three-tone customisation for the base and pads, will also incur an additional charge on top of the standard list price.
  • Flexible Cavallin base, designed to distribute weight over a wider surface area compared to a standard bareback pad;
  • Dedicated pad with inserts in airshell (included as standard but customizable), to fine-tune balance and pressure relief, especially as the horse changes over time;
  • Minimalist seat that is slightly more supportive under the pelvis;
  • Natural equitation position, which does not force a rigid posture and allows freedom for the leg;
  • Configurable with lightweight stirrup leathers or can be used completely stirrupless;
  • Compact profile, suitable even for horses with short or sensitive backs;
  • Handmade in Italy and highly customizable; tailorable to your personal preferences and needs.
